Week #37 + #38

After 8 months of being apart, my parents came to visit me in Leipzig. I had a great time showing them around the city, as well as the town I have been living in. I brought them to two different German history museums, the botanical gardens, many different German restaurants and cafes, the Monument to the Battle of the Nations, and of course we stopped by the zoo. They also got to meet my host family for dinner. It was really fun explaining some of the different cultural norms to them.

In addition, we went to Berlin, where we toured around the city for twos. We went to the top of the TV tower to get a view of the city, visited the Berlin Wall, and went to a really fun Oktoberfest style German restaurant.

Lastly, we did a day in Dresden. We admired the architecture of the city, sat down for a nice asparagus season lunch, visited the famous church, and then went for a couple drinks in the Biergarten.

I am so happy my parents were able to come visit me for the week and get a small taste of what my life is like here in Germany.
